This tale is a MUST READ for all aspiring adventurers and armchair adventurers. It is a tale above all or PERSEVERENCE, not just physical, but also sheer doggedness in the face of stultifying bureaucracy, cultural misunderstanding and misconception, pessimism, and negativism.
I like to think that I, too, could row across the Atlantic, but I would never have arrived at the start line!
There are lessons here for businessmen, bureaucrats, raisers of sponsorship, public relations "experts", in fact just about anybody who could do with an object lesson in "How to" and "Don't be put off".
